Nyaguthii Maina

Nyaguthii Maina is an IISD Associate and an international law advisor with the Economic Law and Policy program working on agriculture and investments and based in Nairobi, Kenya. Nyaguthii advises developing country governments and regional bodies on treaties and laws, policies, and contracts relating to investment in agriculture. She previously worked as a legal advisor to the Namibian Ministry of Environment and Tourism, providing legal and policy advice on natural resource management, renewable energy projects, community-driven joint ventures, governance, and compliance matters. Nyaguthii has also worked in policy research at the Kenya Mission to the United Nations office in Nairobi. She began her career at the Office of the Attorney General Kenya, and is qualified to practice law in Kenya. She holds a master’s degree in international development from the London School of Economics.
